  • Where are you online? (Facebook, Twitter, Skype, Blog, Ning, Edmodo)
  • Have you ever Googled yourself?
  • Why is an online presence important to you as an educator?

DISCUSS - Your Classroom Online Presence
  • How would you respond to this comment: "I send a newsletter home every week. Why do I need to put that info on a web page too?"
  • What are parent expectations? How have they changed in the last 5 years?
  • How can an having an online class presence benefit your students?

  • Posterous - If you can send an e-mail, you can be a blogger.
  • Blogger - Already have a Google Login? You won't need a new username & password.
  • Google Sites - Same here.
  • Weebly Quick, easy, professional looking.
  • Wikispaces - Free Education Sites for Teachers. You're looking at it right now.
  • TeacherWeb - Ask Chris Ford
  • WordPress - More complex, but with a little knowledge, you can be dangerous. It's what I use since I switched away from Blogger.
